Finance Manager (all gender)

Your mission

Climate Farmers is a growing organisation that’s building the infrastructure for scaling regenerative agriculture in Europe. We achieve this through the development of transition finance instruments, a thriving farmer-led community, and supply-chain transition support. 

In this crucial role you will oversee and manage all daily financial operations at Climate Farmers, including expense tracking, cash management, invoicing, and management of receivables and payables. You will serve as the primary contact for internal finance inquiries and provide essential business support. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the month-end close process and reviewing payroll.

In a nutshell, your responsibilities will include 

  • Managing invoicing processes and ensure timely billing

  • Overseeing receivables management, including tracking and collection

  • Handling expense management, including tracking and reporting

  • Leading accounting activities for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close

  • Reviewing and verify payroll for accuracy and compliance

  • Approving and track budgets to ensure alignment with financial goals

Your profile

We believe you will be thriving in this role, if you enjoy setting up seamless processes and care for details, can manage different workstreams and are self-organised. You have a background in accounting or finance and are curious about operating a finance support function at an impact-driven company. Working autonomously in the Finance realm and collaboration with our Head of Commercial Strategy in financial planning activities sounds like an exciting new challenge to you.  

  • You hold a degree in Accounting or Finance and bring solid experience in company controlling or financial management, ideally with Datev UO

  • You are familiar with the whole Google Suite and preferably are experienced with Spendesk 

  • Your strong organisational skills offer you the ability to set tasks and timelines, and create efficient processes 

  • You are a diligent person by nature, which allows you to pay attention to detail and be able to identify and correct errors in documents during control checks

  • You are self-organised and champion effective time management

  • Your ability to think creatively and outside the box make you a great problem-solver

  • Thanks to your great communication skills you can manage external service providers  effectively

  • You are fluent in German and English, and preferably are located in Germany. Alternatively we are able to hire in Spain and Portugal 

  • Experience with German non-profit laws is a plus
